When I clocked into work today I overheard that all LA schools have been closed down due to violent threats.. We are living in a terrifying era full of violence, and distress. I can't stress enough how you can't fight guns with guns. We are all living on this earth battling over religion/ race / gender/ and so forth.
When will we realize as a human race that we are ONE? When will we realize that if we co exist there will be less tragedy?
No matter what you believe in this needs to stop, and as a peaceful being I have faith in a better tomorrow.
Be safe everyone!
How does a gentle soul exist in such a violent world. How can a gentle soul go throughout their day knowing that others are disappearing around them.
Wake up people, and put your guns down. You can't fight hate with hate. Love will always prevail.
Stop the violence; put down your guns and pick up a book.
Picked up this gig from Lacey. She manages the band "The Last Jackson." With this project I played with line, space, contrast, and typography. I enjoyed figuring out the layout of the poster. The background was painted with watercolor. Each portrait was hand rendered, and touched up in illustrator. Here is the finished product. If you have a chance be sure to check out "The Last Jackson" Link below.
These past couple of months I have been focusing on culture as a whole. In Minneapolis we have a street called Lake Street. It is to say the least the "melting pot" of the city. Seeing these different cultures live in one community is a beautiful thing. Looking at all of this made me look even deeper into the spectrum. Cultures around the globe have differences, and sometimes solve them violently. I took all of these conclusive ideas, and formed a series called "Unified Understanding." The organic shapes, and patterns in my work live as cultures coexisting, and the splatters live as the differences that never got solved.
